Our in-house engineering staff performs engineering and design functions. With decades of experience, our staff can provide product development and enhance manufacturability through many of the common manufacturing processes. We can specify appropriate materials and components and help you to avoid many of the common pitfalls of the development process. We can work with anything from a hand drawn sketch to an existing design. We can accommodate entire development programs, or just a part of one. Our focus is collaborating with your team to make the best product possible.
We create prototypes via a wide variety of processes. From the experienced handwork of our skilled craftsmen to the use of any of the latest technology, we can work to bring your design to life. We also work closely with rapid prototyping experts, outside of our shop, to utilize the highly specialized breakthrough technologies they offer.
Colonial Patterns uses state of the art Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software. This allows us to read and modify geometry, as well as optimize tool paths for Computer Numerical Control machining directly from geometry provided to us. We can also generate the 3D geometry if our design services are desired.
We are fully networked throughout our facility, facilitating seamless communication with our partners worldwide.
In our shop, we have a plethora of multi-axis CNC machining centers, lathes, conventional mills, EDM machines, and a wire EDM machine. These tools combined with our highly skilled and experienced shop personnel bring your plans to reality.
MOLD REPAIR & MAINTENANCE
In addition to our new tooling, we provide cleaning, maintenance, and repair services on existing tooling. We are accustomed to all manners of mold construction, from simple to complex.
We also perform custom machining service and make a variety of fixtures, masks, and gauges to support production.
